Sauces and dips are an easy way to level up chicken, beef or pork. One of my favorites – and a favorite of our customers at Locovores– is Chipotle Crema. This creamy, spicy sauce brings a kick of southwest flavor to your favorite dishes. Although you can buy Chipotle Crema in your store,  making this chipotle crema recipe is arguably more fun! 

Chipotle Crema Recipe: What You Need

  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1 clove garlic
  • salt to taste

What You'll Do

  • In a food processor, combine the mayo, sour cream, chipotle peppers, lime juice, garlic, and a pinch of salt.
  • Process until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  • Taste test to see if you need to add any more lime juice or salt.

That's it! This Chipotle Crema Recipe could not be simpler. You can make a big batch and store it for up to seven days in your fridge. This sauce goes great with grilled chicken or fajita steak, or you can drizzle in southwest soups –basically, anytime you need a boost of spicy flavor!
