Gosar Bavarian Chipotle Pasta

This recipe takes roughly 15 minutes to prepare and cook. This recipe is for a single serving, so just add accordingly for the number of servings. For this recipe, we are using a local meat and sausage company, Gosar Natural Foods. Located in Monte Vista — we are practically neighbors — they produce fine, European artisan sausage. The flavorful sausage makes a great alternative to chicken.

Here’s what you need

  • 1-ounce olive oil
  • 1 Gosar Bavarian sausage link, cut into 6 bias slices
  • 5 (21/25 shrimp), deveined, shelled and butterflied
  • 4 ounces heavy cream
  • 3 ounces Chipotle sauce, recipe below
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 9 ounces of cooked penne pasta
  • 2 ounces Parmesan, grated
  • 1 tablespoon diced tomato
  • 1 tablespoon diced scallion

Although our pasta has enough flavor to stand on its own, if you’d like add the Chipotle sauce:

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • ½ cup canola oil
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ½ ounce Dijon mustard
  • 2 ounces chipotle paste
  • ½ ounce red chili flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Here’s what to do:

  • Using a saute pan, add olive oil and Gosar Bavarian sausage over high heat.
  • Sear links until browned.
  • Add in the shrimp and cook until pink. Lower to medium heat.
  • Then add cream, chipotle sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Add in cooked Wendi’s Good Things Market Chipotle Fettuccine pasta along with the cheese.
  • Toss to combine.
  • Serve in a desired bowl and garnish with diced tomato, scallions and parmesan cheese.
  • For the chipotle sauce, combine all ingredients in a blender and puree.
  • Enjoy!
