Hold the Sauce! Tasty Pasta Dishes that Don't Require Sauce

3 minute read

Tired of the same old spaghetti sauce or meat sauce slathered over pasta noodles? Well, there’s more than one way to eat pasta! Not all pasta requires sauce. Our flavorful pasta is packed full of taste so no sauce is required to enjoy! Try a few of these tasty pasta dishes that don’t require sauce and let us know what you think.

  • Aglio e Olio: Spaghetti or fettuccine tossed with olive oil, sautéed garlic, red pepper flakes, and parsley. The olive oil and garlic create a flavorful coating for the pasta. Use our Italian Herb & Garlic Fettuccine pasta.

  • Buttered pasta: Cooked pasta tossed with melted butter and seasoned with salt and pepper. Simple, yet delicious. Pairs nicely with any of our pasta.

  • Garlic and parmesan pasta: Cooked pasta coated in a mixture of olive oil, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley. The heat from the pasta helps melt the cheese and infuse the flavors.

  • Lemon butter pasta: Cooked pasta tossed with melted butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, and fresh herbs such as thyme or basil. It's light, tangy, and refreshing.

  • Caprese pasta: Cooked pasta mixed with fresh mozzarella cheese balls, cherry tomatoes and basil leaves, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze. A delightful combination of flavors.

  • Pasta with sautéed vegetables: Sauté a variety of vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, mushrooms and spinach in olive oil, then toss them with cooked pasta and season with salt, pepper, and herbs. For a little extra spice, pair with our Chipotle or Hatch Green Chile Fettuccine pasta.

  • Pasta with grilled chicken or shrimp: Grill chicken or shrimp separately, then slice or chop them and mix with cooked pasta. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with grated Parmesan, and add herbs for extra flavor.

  • Pasta Salad: Cooked pasta tossed with a variety of colorful vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, olives and feta cheese. Dress with a vinaigrette or a mixture of olive oil, vinegar, herbs and seasonings. Pairs nicely with our Southwest Blend pasta.

While sauce is not necessary to enjoy our pasta, no one likes to eat dry, rubbery pasta. So, always be sure sure to add a little olive oil, butter, or pureed veggies. And of course, if you do want to add in some sauce, we carry a traditional roasted garlic pasta sauce that would pair nicely with any of our pasta flavors!
