Spring & Summer 2022 Hair Trends

Spring & Summer 2022 Hair Trends

3 minute read

It's been a while since I've taken the time to really pay attention to what hair trends are.  I've sort of waited for them to slap me in the face before I pay attention. This year with my renewed energy for life and self-care, I have proactively gone out searching for trends.  Out of all the trends I've found, hair trends for Spring & Summer 2022 are the most fun.  As always, I've edited out all the non-functional and strange trends.   I will forever be the place for fun, yet practical trends for women like me who are on the move. We'll leave the geometric shapes and checkboard hair for the runways.  I hope you'll join me in freshening up your look this season. Let's dive in:
1. Healthy hair.  After years of hair trends like extensions (still a thing) and coloring like crazy, there is a greater focus now on having healthy hair.  I'm not affiliated at all with this company, but it's too good not to share.  If you haven't heard of Olaplex, you're missing out.  After a full year of bun hair and other neglect, this stuff has revived my flat lifeless hair.  It is used by well known celebrities like Kyle Jenner and Drew Barrymore. So if you're ready to brighten up your locks for spring and summer, start here.
2.  Color.  Ok, this is a fun one.  The colors that are in this season are shades of red and copper.  Although every now and then I wonder what a deep berry color would like on me, the practical side tends to win out.  But girl, I'll be over here fangirling over yours if you go all the way with some of these.  Taking a trend just taking a piece of it is my sweet spot. I love the idea of adding some highlights or color with possibly some copper or caramel in it.
3. Cut.  Woah, there's so much happening in cuts right now that it was hard to narrow it down.  The first few things are straight out of the 70's mullets and shag haircuts.  Not my favorite styles really...so sorry, I can't even talk about those.  Just like the platinum/gray hair trend several years ago, to me these styles only look good on twenty-somethings. Otherwise a person just looks older than their age.
Luckily, there's many other fun things going on.  One I really love is the power bob.  The power bob is  your typical bob but with razor-sharp ends.  It has a bit of rocker vibe to it that is super fun.  The pic below has me tempted to cut off the locks again as I love this so much!
In longer hair trends, elevated top knots and Barbie ponies are on trend.  These up-dos take a bit of practice to master.  They're super cute and worth the time.  As an entrepreneur who works with body care, candles and food, I love a cute hairstyle that is up and out of the way.
Okay lovlies, it's time to try something fresh and new...just a small step.  Remember, it's okay to play and have fun doing things like this.  I can't wait to see your red hair or cute top knot.
