What is a galette?
A galette is essentially a clean slate to begin a culinary masterpiece that's unique to your taste. Today, I'm sharing my recipe for one of my favorites: Strawberry Cream Cheese Galette! This semi-homemade breakfast treat includes a creamy filling and sweet strawberries and is perfect with a side of eggs and fresh fruit.

What You Need
1 sheet pastry dough
8 oz cream cheese cut
1 jar of Morning Joe Coffee Almond Spread from Karmelize me (or Nutella)
8-10 strawberries
2 tbsp honey
2-3 sprigs of thyme
What You Do
- Take the sheet of pastry dough and lay it flat.
- Cut up the cream cheese in slices and place it in the center of the dough.
- Add 1/2 c of mourning joe spread.
- Slice strawberries and place them on top.
- Next, drizzle honey across the top.
- Finally, take the pastry dough and begin crimping and creating a bowl. (see video).
- Top with thyme and Cook at 375 for 30 minutes.
If you're not into sweet, the galette can be packed with almost any type of toppings, from sweet to savory. Consider spinach, tomatoes, onions, ham or sausage in addition to the cream cheese filling (I love that cream cheese can be the base for sweet AND savory foods.)
